Home Art-kino: selection of the domestic platforms that we follow

By the time we return to the Art-kino’ big screen, domestic producers and distributors have been passing our time with a great selection of film titles that we can watch for free from the comfort (and safety) of our home. We bring an overview of the offers by our long-time associates whose films we regularly screen as part of the Art-kino repertoire. Until the reunion and new collaborations, they have given us the opportunity to continue watching valuable films. We thank them for that!

Kino Mediteran

Every year Kino Mediteran arrives to Art-kino during the summer months but this year, thanks to its online offer, this cinema entered our homes with the first days of spring! On their platform they bring 22 films screened at the Mediterranean Film Festival Split. Since most of these films have already been screened in our cinema, it is a perfect opportunity to watch what you missed and rewatch what you liked. For free streaming, enter the code KARANTENA before purchase. Watch the films here.

Filmaktiv

On the occasion of their 16th birthday, Filmaktiv Association from Rijeka launched a CoronaCinema channel where award-winning films by our directors from Rijeka are available for free. You can find The Waiting Point by Maša Drndić, The Settlers by Barbara Babačić, Delta by Marin Lukanović, Plenumovie by Sanja Kapidžić, Ana Jurčić and Marta Batinić. Go through your morning coffee ritual with First thing while reminiscing about our gatherings with Drunken Alley and other films that have premiered in Art-kino. Some films are translated into Croatian sign language. Watch the films here.

croatian.film

Each time Zagreb Film Festival travels to Art-kino, it brings the chosen Checkers – a national competitive programme of short films that highlights new authors who have not made a feature film yet. This year the croatian.film platform was launched as an extension of Checkers. The platform, with its big and growing base of Croatian short films, offers the viewers a quality overview of local short film production of different categories (feature, animated, documentary, experimental and hybrid) and film genres, completely free of charge. Watch the domestic shorts here.

Restart

Restart has been bringing us documentary treats for years – some are made in their own production, others are selected and distributed foreign documentary hits. Now, Restart left the door of their online treasury ajar so that we can enjoy 20 titles for free, many of which have already been screened in Art-kino. The list of the free films is available on this link. For free streaming, enter the code DOKU-IZOLACIJA before purchase.

Factum

A Croatian independent documentary production Factum is offering its five most watched documentary films, together with five different documentaries ranging from personal and inspirational authorial stories to the events which have marked local history. However, keep an eye on their site, as the offer of free documentaries is growing with time. For free streaming, enter the code OSTANIDOMA before purchase.

Croatian Film Association

An online video library has been launched to watch films produced by Croatian Film Association. So far, 18 short and feature films have been offered for free streaming, and new titles will be added to the library in the coming period. Watch the films here.

Fade In

The production company Fade In offers its films for free on Vimeo.  They regularly share links for streaming on their Facebook page, and the film titles are added gradually, depending on the topic they want to tackle each week.
